FILON Refurb Over-Roofing

The patented FILON Over-roofing system has an incredible range of benefits for building refurbishment – from time and cost savings to reduced environmental impact and more.

Description

FILON refurb over-roofing products have been proven in countless diverse applications throughout the UK and Ireland – from factories and industrial units to leisure centres, retail stores and local authority housing. Utilising durable profiled GRP sheets, FILON Over-roofing is designed to provide a quick, trouble-free and economical solution for a new waterproof skin over an existing roof, whatever its condition.

Benefits:

From atmosphere to environmental sustainability, there are many benefits to FILON GRP Over Roofing:

  • Time – Building refurbs can take time, but FILON’s Over-roofing system can save you some in a number of ways:
  • Matches most existing roof profiles
  • Patented Profix spacer designed for fast and easy installation
  • No planning requirement
  • Removes the need to strip off existing roof coverings

  • Cost – Budgets are always a concern in any refurbishment project. FILON Over-roofing:
  • Is low-cost
  • Has a One-fix system that significantly reduces installation time and cost
  • Eliminates considerable cost of asbestos removal, handling and disposal
  • [/fusion_li_item]
  • Minimal weight – FILON Over-roofing is lightweight yet strong, and is manufactured to the same profile as the existing roof. It therefore requires no additional structural supports. As the weight of the system is less than that of the potential water absorbed by the existing asbestos cement and fibre cement sheets, there is no requirement for structural calculations. The building will have carried heavier loads under saturation before, but the existing sheets won’t get wet again.
  • Minimal disruption on-site – Fixed from the outside, FILON Over-roofing allows total roof refurbishment to be carried out with minimal disruption to building occupants.
  • Extends the life of the building – See the Technical Data tab to see the guarantees of extended life depending on the sheet weight selected
  • Improved insulation – Glass fibre quilt can be incorporated into the system to improve whole roof insulation values.
  • Asbestos and metal profile matching – Most asbestos fibre cement roof profiles can be matched. Subject to enquiry, FILON Over-roofing may also be used for metal trapezoidal profiles.
