FILON Insulating rooflights

FILON FAIRs GRP factory assembled insulating rooflights are manufactured using high-quality FILON Glass Reinforced Polyester (GRP) to provide a simple in-plane rooflight solution in composite panel roofs and walls.

Description

They are designed to provide high levels of natural light, with double and triple skin rooflights available to provide a range of insulation values. FILON GRP sheets scatter transmitted light, to ensure even light distribution without internal glare, excessive shadow or hot spots.

FILON offer profiled GRP rooflights with a number of options to ensure you get the best product for your application

Non-fragility – When used in applications where the rooflights may be subject to mechanical damage or where personnel may need to access roof areas, FILON FAIRs can be specified with heavier weight and enhanced reinforced weather sheets for single skin or multiple layer rooflight or wall light assemblies:

  • CEDR24E
  • CEDR30E
  • Extra strong FILON Supasafe E

Fire properties – FILON FAIRs are manufactured with FILON translucent GRP sheets that are tested to BS 476 Parts 3, 6 & 7. The normal fire ratings of the sheets used are:

  • FILON Grade 300 outer: AB to BS 476 Part 3
  • FILON Grade 104 inner: Class 1 to BS 476 Part 7
  • FILON Grade 101: Class 0 to BS 476 Part 6 is available for enhanced fire performance

Bespoke – FILON FAIRs can be configured to provide the ideal solution for rooflighting in any profiled roof.

UV protected GRP outer sheets can be manufactured to match all current profiles, and most discontinued ones, and our advanced tooling techniques enable new tooling to produce bespoke products.

The central core can be adapted to provide the level of insulation required. U-values as low as 0.9 W/m²K can be achieved. Lining panels are manufactured from profiled GRP to customer specification.
